What is CBD?

CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, a compound mainly found in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. It’s one of the many powerful chemical compounds known as cannabinoids that can be extracted from the hemp plant.

What is CBA?

CBA is the abbreviation for Copaiba (co-pie-e-buh), a rare oil-resin offering the benefits of hemp from a completely different source. CBA offers, on average double the amount of beta-caryophyllene, the powerful component found in hemp found to support inflammation and symptom relief.

CBA is harvested from 100 foot Copaifera trees, native to South and Central America. Harvesting and extracting CBA oil is done in a similar way to maple syrup. These trees are accessed by boat, so the collection season is determined by the water levels, making this a rare and treasured oil.

What are cannabinoids, and what do they do?

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds that interact with our body's endocannabinoid system. Cannabinoids found in hemp are derived from the aerial parts of the plant. The cannabinoid called cannabidiol (CBD) appears to offer many medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Beta-Caryophyllene or BCP is the main active cannabinoid in CBA. BCP is a selective binding agent to the CB2 receptor benefiting the body with medicinal and therapeutic benefits.

What is hemp oil, and is it different than CBD?

Both are made from the same plant, but hemp oil is cold-pressed from hemp seeds. It contains only trace amounts of CBD, and therefore can not deliver the potency and full benefits of CBD oil. CBD oil or hemp extract oil is made from the entire hemp plant including the seeds, leaves, and stem and contains rich amounts of CBD and other beneficial cannabinoids.

Is CBA related to hemp oil?

CBA is NOT associated with hemp oil in any way. It is known to be a popular hemp alternative from a completely different source.

Are XTEND5 products addictive?

CBD & CBA are non-addictive and generally safe for everyday use. XTEND5 recommends consulting a physician prior to use.

Why do you use MCT oil in your blends?

CBD & CBA are fat-soluble, meaning it breaks down and is stored in fat rather than water. Therefore cannabinoids are most effective when consumed with fat because it increases the rate of absorption. XTEND5 chose MCT oil, because of it’s higher fat content than other oils, it gives the cannabinoids the support they need to move through the body and interact with the endocannabinoid system as efficiently as possible.

Can I take XTEND5 products with my medications?

We recommend speaking with your physician before taking CBD or CBA with your medications.
